WordPress has the ability to allow authors to assign custom fields to a post. This extra information is referred to as meta-data. More recently, custom fields have allowed users to make their blog more personable, and customized, by extending their posts even more than before. Custom Fields is the perfect solution for any WordPress website which needs more flexible data, as is found in other Content Management Systems. Uncode offers an easy way to create a custom field.
- Navigate to the Theme Options → Post (Page, Portfolio or Product).
- Create a new Custom Field and Save, screenshot.
- Navigate to a single Post (Page, Portfolio or Product) and insert a value for the Custom Field in the Page Options, screenshot.
- When you create a Posts module, you will also be able to display this new element in the Element list that will appear in your thumbnails, screenshot.
